I was brought in part way through this project, initially as a consultant for mixing and recording a few tracks. This progressed to taking on these roles. I worked on several masters for these tracks, but ultimately, it was decided that the EP should be mastered as a whole by a more impartial engineer, as I had already been involved in the mixing for much of the project.
Mixing Papillon and Tu ne seras jamais désolé were some of my favourite tracks I’ve worked on. I had collaborated previously with Pauline on a number of unreleased tracks, and she’s always been a joy to work with. Starting with such excellently written and performed songs leaves me with so much more creative freedom to mix creatively rather than spending all my time repairing recordings. Pauline was also brilliant in our sessions, responding to feedback and suggestions with excitement and a strong vision for what she wanted.
It was great to be involved in a project with so many other talented creatives as well, from producers to filmmakers, photographers to performers; there are so many people behind this project, which has made it as good as it is. It feels amazing to be able to include myself in the roster which worked so hard to bring this EP to the world.
